Community Access and Participation

Sanity Care helps people with disability by connecting them to the community and through engaging in social activities. Social interaction and community participation are an essential part of everyday life, and that is why we offer a wide range of one to one community access, community outreach activities, and group activities for people with disabilities.

Each activity is designed individually to support people with physical, intellectual and sensory disabilities to stay in touch with their community and have plenty of fun along the way. Social engagement and community participation is such an essential part of life, and disability should not stop anyone from participating in their community.

Our caring and professional staff at Sanity Care provide all kinds of community participation services to NDIS recipients, including:

  • Attending concerts, theatre performances, movies, sporting events, shopping

  • Getting involved in swimming, bowling, and other low-impact sport

  • Learning how to use public transport or how to drive

We also offer assistance with:

  • Taking courses, gaining new skills, and attaining formal qualifications

  • Transport and travel

  • Translation and interpreting

  • Improving confidence, self-esteem, and peer interaction

We can support you with scheduled transport services to:

  • Doctor’s appointments

  • Physiotherapist or other health professionals

  • Attending school or workplace

  • Assistance with shopping

  • Attending family or events.

Our group activity program for 10-18 year-olds with disability includes:

  • Park and play areas around Adelaide

  • Creating craft

  • Picnic lunch or visiting a café

  • 10 Pin Bowling

  • Going to the beach

  • Checking out Adelaide zoo
